![]() If you don't like Magic: The Gathering, well, thanks for reading this far, but don't buy this item. If you suspect one of the packs is from a set you like, go for it. Not a great bargain, but not a total ripoff either, especially if you play Modern and Commander like I do. Basically, you're paying full price for 3 packs that have rotated out of Standard, plus a cool foil. On the other hand, there are a lot of utility cards here that could be handy for a lot of different decks. The odds of pulling a card like Collected Company that could earn back the cost are slim. So, is this a good buy? Your packs and their contents WILL vary. The multitude of multicolored cards are a boon to the deckbuilder. I really like the flavor of the story behind the Ravnica plane, and the cards from Return to Ravnica, Gatecrash, and Dragon's Maze are all handy. Paralyzing Grasp can be an effective way to shut down a creature so it can't attack or activate certain abilities. His commander is Atarka, World Render, and here are some cards that I now know are in his deck: Foe-Razer Regent, Furnace Whelp, Rapacious Dragon, Atarka Monument, Frontier Siege, Vandalblast, Sweltering Suns, Talisman of Impulse, Akoum Hellkite, Harbinger of the Hunt, Dream Pillager, Sol Ring, Dragonmaster Outcast, Dragonspeaker Shaman, Savage. Stab Wound is a favorite black enchantment of mine. Phantom General is great in any deck that generates token creatures. Golgari Decoy is great whenever you need to swing at an opponent, and need something else to actually get through. None of the rest of these cards are very interesting to me, but the trade value for that rare is nice.Īw, yeah! Conjured Currency isn't a high-value card, but it could be a lot of fun in blue manipulation. None of these cards have high value in the secondary market, but several can be useful in my decks, so I call this pack a win.Ĭollected Company is worth about $9-13 right now. This is one white mana for a 1/1 flyer, very efficient in any white deck. The rest of the cards are all commons that could have some potential in various decks, but one stands out: Aven Skirmisher. Frost Walker is a bit less of a boost to any of my decks, but I am tempted to explore a deck where he could work. Dragonrage has potential in any red aggro deck. The Wardscale Dragon uncommon behind it is also awesome. And I love the Return to Ravnica set! Let's see what's in these packs, in that order.ĭromoka, the Eternal - another Legendary Creature dragon - is awesome. While I'm not a huge fan of the Khans of Tarkir block, the Dragons set has potential. So what's behind the promo card? This one has packs from Fate Reforged, Dragons of Tarkir, and Return to Ravnica! Fate Reforged has some fun stuff. But why sell? Red and green are fun deck colors, and dragons are cool. This promo foil isn't likely to be a high-dollar card due to the number printed for these packs, but it looks cool and MIGHT fetch a dollar if sold online. This could serve as a commander in a dragon tribal deck, or be used to upgrade a preexisting deck. Up front is a nice foil red/green Legendary Creature: Atarka, World Render, a dragon with some really nice abilities. Are they worth it? Let's take a look at this one and find out! Many big box stores sell these special "3 Booster Packs +1 Foil Promo Card" bundles for around $12 USD.
